FIYA held its second Archery playoffs Thursday at Frank Parent School. In a rematch of last year’s championship, Parent looked to dethrone defending champs Trinity. The match was extremely competitive, with the Chargers of San Pedro winning by the slimmest of margins on a one arrow shoot off that Parent needed to win to keep the match alive.
The eight schools that participated in FIYA Archery did so thanks to a generous grant from the Easton Foundation, and all eight participated in the playoffs. Leading up to the finals St. Anastasia beat Visitation in a ten archer, one arrow each playoff, while Parent beat WISH, Trinity beat Frederick Douglass, and St. Jerome took down Good Shepherd. In the semi-finals Parent outlasted St. Anastasia while Trinity got past St. Jerome, setting up their rematch.
Congratulations to all the schools and all the archers on a great season.
